What is CREATE?

The DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program’s (“HPCMP”) Computational Research and Engineering Acquisition Tools and Environments (“CREATE”) Program was launched in 2007 to develop and deploy a family of multi-physics-based computational engineering software tools for the DoD Acquisition community.

The CREATE Program can be described as a physics-based, High-Performance Computing enabler of “digital siblings,” digital analogs of major DoD hardware systems. The CREATE tools, when invoked on high-performance computing systems, are capable of accurately predicting the performance of naval, air, ground, and radiofrequency antenna weapons systems before they are manufactured. At the software engineering level CREATE is a risk-based, practice-centered software development project focused on an Agile DevSecOps approach.
